My right brain, my left brain

The right brain is visual, intuitive and creative. While the left brain is verbal, analytical and plain.

My Poetry

I wrote this for one of my friends after he took his own life two years ago.

Untitled

I don't know why you left us,
and I probably never will.
I love and miss you so much,
and I know you're in my heart still.
I wish you could have talked to me,
and of taking your life you should have asked.
Maybe I could have reasoned with you,
maybe I could have made your life last.
You were so young and funny,
and your spirit was so free.
Your laugh, your smile, the way you made me feel,
you mean so much to me.
But you've gone to a better home now,
there is no sorrow or tears.
I know I'll get to see you one day,
I just miss you but "no fears".

The Beautiful Struggle

My FavoritE ArtisT

This is Kenny Chesney. He has to be my favorite artist because of the way he sings and puts his feelings into his music. He has a way of making his songs carefree and full of life. They take you to another time and place with no worries. They help you forget about the difficulties in life if even for a moment. You just want to get lost in his words and music. HIs words let you know to not take life for granted and appreciate the little things in life before thay blink away.

Don't Blink

just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you

Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife

Don't blink

just might miss your babies growin' like mine did

Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your better half

of fifty years is there in bed And you're praying God takes you instead

Trust me friend, a hundred years goes faster than you think

So don't blink

So I've been tryin' to slow it down

I've been tryin' to take it in

In this here today, gone tomorrow world we're livin' in

Don't Blink

just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and ya'

Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife

Don't Blinkjust might miss your babies growin' like mine did

Turning into moms and dads; next thing you know your better half

of fifty years is there in bed And you're praying God takes you instead

Trust me friend, a hundred years goes faster than you think

So Don't Blink

No, don't blink

don't blink

life goes faster than you thinks

o don't blink

don't blink

life goes father then you think

don't blink

life goes faster then you think.

ThE ArT of ThiS CulturE

Egyptian Art~

The art of this culture, like many others, tells us their story. When we think of Egyptians we think of mysterious people with built huge pyramids and were obsessed with cats. However, if you look closely at the art they created in that time, it will reveal things about their culture. They tell us of a land which was so organized that they were able to pile up these gigantic mounds in the lifetime of a single king, and they tell us of kings who were so rich and powerful that they could force thousands and thousands of slaves to build for them, to quarry the stones, to drag them to where it was to be built at, and to shift them precisely so the tomb was ready for the king. No other culture would have went through so much just to please their king. To the Egyptains there king was their God. He came from the heavens when he was born and returned their after his death. The pyramids were meant to help him to return. He had complete power over them and swayed them to do his will.

Art And The Human Nature

Human nature is a human beings way of thinking. They way they react naturally and their instincts. Their characteristics determine this. These things all human beings have in common.

Human nature is the base makeup of a human being.

High Museum Visit

This is me at the High Museum in line for the general admission tickets. I went along with my boyfriend Chris and had a great time. The most meaningful thing about the trip to me was the whole experience in general. I had not been to many museums before, and never to the High Museum. I’m glad I got to experience new kinds of art with my boyfriend. I had a great time and I would definitely go again. I really enjoyed the ENTIRE skyway level of the Stent Family Wing. I love folk art and Howard Finster’s art moved me. His passion for the Lord and a cleaner and better environment appealed to me, because I have many of the same passions.
o My favorite work of art would be the ‘Rinaldo and Armida’ by Francois Boucher. It was a beautiful and colorful depiction of an unsuspected love.
o The work of art I liked but I would not take home would be ‘The Winged Genius’. The Roman statue made of marble was wonderful, but it was a little too exposed to be taken home and sit in the living room.
o The ‘Lady of Auxerre’ taught me something I did not know. It used to be a colorfully painted small statue. Now it stands blanched and faded with part of the face deteriorated.
o ‘Christ Carrying the Cross’ was a very sad painting. It showed the hurt that he goes through to see that even though he tries to save us, we choose not to follow Him. It is intensely dramatic showing the pain He feels in His eyes.
o ‘Victory at St. Gothard’ showed a historic moment in time. This pricless was one of many created for King Louis XIV. It represents the victory of the King over the Turks at St. Gothard.
o The English ceramics reminded me of someone I know. My Yaya Penny, (that is what I call my Great-Grandmother) has many English and Chinese ceramics at her home in Pennsylvania. She is very old and can barely remember my name but I always remember all the the porcelain pots, dishes, trays and dishes she kept on display in a wooden cabinet like the English Ceramics display at the museum.
o The work of art that I think shocked me the most was the painting of ‘The Funeral of Atala’. The beauty shocked me the most and that it had started the basis of the story we now as “Romeo and Juliet”. I did not realize that “Romeo and Juliet” was formed so many years ago. The Folk art gallery and the Contemporary art gallery were completely different from one another in my opinion. The Contemporary gallery was very modern and at times abstract. It does not usually have a certain message. It is based on your depiction and view of what the art may reveal. In its at times simplicity it gives you a chance to make your own interpretation to define itself. The Folk art gallery on the contrary could not have been more different. Every work of art had a message or a story to tell. It could have an anti-war, carefree, and thrive in life message. It tries to get you to see things adversely and recognize the beauty in simple things.

Art On You Tube II

This guy is great! True Art!!

My Catharsis

Why are men so difficult? Im not a sexist woman but geez are men impossible. I say they act more like women than actuall women do! I mean my boyfriend of nearly a year acts more like a girl than I do. With the nagging and complaining and the constant whining. He is so lazy at times! UGH! Drives me crazy! Im more of a go-with-whatever-comes-at-me kinda girl and maybe this is why it gets to me so much but I have way more guy friends than girl friends and they are more or less all the same! Did I miss something? These guys are always gossiping and always complaining about their woman like a bunch of girls...idk! Maybe its just me but... its crazy.

Meet This Artist I Know

This artist on the left is my mom, Vicki Boyd. She is an amazing artist and writes poems and short stories. She almost submitted one of her children's short story into a book but she chickened out. She is very unassuming and does not know how great her work is. Here is one of her poems.

Summer Nights

As the grasshoppers laugh to the full, risen moon,
the crickets are playing their own little tune.
As the waters rustle softly in the lake nearby,
the birds from above, let out a sigh.
As the train blows the whistle from somewhere afar,
Somewhere someone is out there, wishing on a fallen star.
As the dogs bark, leaving echoes all around,
No cars on the road for they're all homeward bound.
As the trees sway in the soft moonlight,
The summer is ending with a warm good night.

I Love This Piece Of Architecture

This beautiful house known as the "Serendipity House" in Rodanthe, Virgina has been standing for more than 20 years. As the "star" of the new movie "Nights in Rodanthe" this house was renevated just for the movie. Never a bed and breakfast this antique building stands right on the edge of the waves to where you would think it would go down any second, this house stands 3 stories high and has a weathered and homey look.

DaNcE! DaNcE! ItS a ReVoLuTiOn!

Dance is an amazing art that keeps evolving over time. It's part of a community, culture, self expression, religionor a social thing. It defines who you are without words. It is a form of expression like none other because it speaks what words cannot. It is a form of body language that can have extreme technique and beautiful form to just a feeling and movement to some sort of rhythm like music. The many styles of dance help us see how diverse and creatively unique every person and culture is.

My Photographic Eye

"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
Elliot Erwitt

My Theme: NoisE

The first picture is of a squealing wild hog. The second is of the new 09 roaring camaro. The third photograph is of the screaming rodeo audience. The fourth picture is of celebrating high school seniors. Lastly the final picture is of laughter.

This Music Video is a Work of Art

This music video is a truely beautiful. It tells a story based on an old Australian ballad about a man who killed his wife so that no one else could have her and he wrote a song for her in prison. It is a very emotional and beautiful video.

Art on You Tube I

This is not only art but really awesome! This man must have been really bored to think of making a picture of Elvis Presley with cheetos! Very creative and different. This is a super talented guy.

Art and the Human Condition

Art reflects who we are as people, our daily struggles, our personal lives, thoughts and ideas. It is how people react to the world. It reflects the personal, national, social, religious, and racial. Aristotle believed that poetry and art are more philosophic and more important than history. Today most of us do not agree. Most people now do not view art as a thing of importance. It is more viewed as part of lives that is not necessary.
Artist William Finch writes of his painting, "It is with that foundation- whether painting rich and textured floral scenes, capturing snapshots of life, showcasing man's present plight for completion and meaning, or making commentary on the persecuted church... his work reflects the redemptive and points to a final culmination where the undesirable and broken can be made whole."

aRt aNd tHe huMan strUggle

There is no certain way to interpret the human struggle. Everyone copes in their own way and many through art. Maybe a painting or a photograph to express their feelings on a situation or to show how they feel themselves. To find fulfillment and happiness in your life you must overcome some form of struggle. Without struggle we cannot see the beauty in things.

Fantasia

Film is an art form of the mind, eyes, feelings, soul, everything. Movies can change outlooks on life. Make you laugh, make you cry, piss you off. There are endless possibilities in the movies. To be a great work of art, all a film has to have is a good story. The Lion King, Pocahontas, and especially Fantasia, are all beautiful works of art in the film industry. As well as all Disney movies. They all tell beautiful stories that have deep meaning and can teach you things if you pay attention.

Fashion As An Art Form

Fashion is Art. Its a different kind of art form because it can hold practical purpose as something to shelter and protect us as well as a thing of beauty. It can be described as folk art, pop art, even fine art, and others. Fashion is an art form in the way of expression. Just as an artist may paint to express themselves, fashion designers do the same in their fashion designing. It may show how they are feeling that day or their outlook on certain things and even life. Fashion like many art forms has changed over the years. It has evolved into a more social thing more than just something to wear. What we put on daily whether we know it or not makes a statement.

Catharsis II

In this world, we seldom see,
The little things that come to thee.
For as we hustle, and bustle, and progress,
We tend to oversee the best.
As time goes by and our hour grows short,
We let it fly, no remorse.
How can we see those pretty things,
Those so simple, a smile it always brings.
When we dont take time to slow it down,
To see the beauty, relaxed and unwound.
We will miss it in a blink,
Maybe we should take our time, dont you think.

GrAfFiTi_ArT Of ThE StReEt

Graffiti is definatley art. Not by trained artists by those uneducated and willing to express themselves publicly. They do it for pride, to mark their ground, to tell a story, or just to speak about something important to them. Art can come from paint brushes as well as paint cans. Going back to Ancient Greece and the Romans their art on the wall is defines as a form of graffiti and the art is not questioned.

Say No To Pollution!

My diorama represents how pollution has, and will furthermore, effected Earth. The oil spills are there to show how oil can get into wildlife's as well as our own drinking water and cause disease! The polluted air is mainly caused by smoke stacks from factories and car exaust and carbon dioxide. This can easily take over our lungs over time. Notice there are no wildlife and there is dead vegetation on the polluted side. This could happen to us, where YOU live, over time. Just by recycling more and taking care of the environment around you will help in creating a better life for you and others. Our Ozone is depleting because of chloroflourocarbons, and other air pollution. The man in the back has suffered from skin damage due to ozone depletion. The girl in the truck is throwing out her trash without thinking twice. She, like many will say " Thats what community service workers are for." and think nothing of it. If you think about how many of you say that and do just that, there are not enough workers or time in the world to pick up all that trash. So please dont throw trash out the window. You could be potentially killing or injuring someone or something.
